Biosimilars Forum Statement on the Introduction of Biosimilars in the United States

WASHINGTON, DC, (September 3, 2015) – “The Biosimilars Forum commends the introduction today of biosimilars in the United States. Today’s launch of the first US biosimilar is evidence that the US pathway for biosimilars is viable. Members of the Forum look forward to bringing many other biosimilars to the market. There are still a few regulatory and reimbursement issues that need to be resolved. We look forward to working with FDA, CMS, and others to resolve these issues. Our mission will be to continue to educate health care professionals and patients about the value that biosimilars will provide. We believe thousands of patients with serious diseases will benefit from increased access to treatment options once they are launched.”
